It’s no secret that the Dubs have the greatest lineup in the league, and their chemistry is phenomenal. They have two of NBA’s top players in Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. But looking at the bigger picture, where these two rank in today’s NBA?
Steph has won two MVP awards, and KD has one. But Steph hasn’t been as dominant as of late, and not just because KD is part of the lineup. Injuries have hounded the deadeye shooter over the past seasons, hindering him from playing to his potential.
Durant, on the other hand, has simply been stellar. He has almost never had a bad game since joining the Dubs and has won two straight Finals MVPs.
With Lebron James still ruling the league and Russell Westbrook and James Harden capturing the previous two MVP awards, we’re putting KD right smack in the middle of them. Even Lebron himself has said that next to him, KD is the best player out there. But when it comes to impact on the team, there are players like Anthony Davis and Giannis Antetokounmpo who have single-handedly lifted their teams and brought them into playoff contention.
Steph meanwhile has probably fallen outside of the top five players in the league, again, due to injuries on his legs. But unlike Kawhi Leonard, who simply refuses to play, Steph’s still in the mix for the league’s top 10.
